Marshall has taken down their web pages concerning diversity, equity and inclusion-related content.
This comes days after West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey signed an executive order eliminating DEI initiatives from state-funded institutions and operations within the state government.
Several pages, including the President’s Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, have been unpublished from the Marshall website while the university works through the process, Director of Communications Leah Payne told The Parthenon.
While many links that once directed users to pages concerning DEI initiatives are now redirecting to the university’s home page, the Board of Governor rules, university policies and administrative procedures are still online and accessible.
“The university’s government relations and legal teams are reviewing all executive orders that apply to higher education to ensure compliance,” Payne said.
